From Baseball Breakout to Multi-Sport Expansion: How Flicket Is Fuelling The Cosmic Sports Revolution
Cosmic Baseball has grown at a pace few live entertainment concepts ever achieve. Founded in 2024 around creating a completely new kind of fan experience, what began as a bold reimagining of baseball has quickly evolved into a national touring phenomenon, selling more than 750,000 tickets and delivering 90+ sellouts across the United States in just 12 months.
Behind that growth sits an increasingly complex live operation, spanning new venues and markets, high-demand on-sales, different seating configurations and varying venue requirements. As the tour moves from city to city, each stop brings its own operational considerations, requiring technology and a team that can adapt quickly without slowing the pace of growth.
For Cosmic Sports, the technology behind the experience needed to scale just as quickly as the audience. That is where Flicket came in.
Built Around the Fan Experience
As demand for Cosmic Baseball grew, the team began looking for ticketing technology capable of keeping pace with the volume of fans trying to buy.
Cosmic Sports Founder and CEO Chris Martin explains:
“The previous system that we were using would not keep up with the amount of purchases that were going through the network. If thousands of people were trying to buy at the same time, you would see the system start to slow down and really start to struggle, where people couldn’t buy and keep up with the high level of demand.”
For a business built around creating an exceptional fan experience, that was a problem. As Chris puts it, when a system starts to lag or fans can’t reach checkout, the customer experience is already being compromised.
But handling demand was only part of the requirement. Cosmic wanted the entire buying journey to remain unmistakably theirs, rather than sending fans into a separate ticketing ecosystem.
“One of the biggest things that we were looking for was a platform that we could take our brand and integrate it into our website, and have the same feel and vibe of being on our website at all times.”
For Chris, it was important to find a ticketing partner willing to coexist with the Cosmic brand, allowing every part of the journey to feel connected while maintaining the direct relationship with their audience.
“It was really important to us that all of our fans had an experience that they could recognize as Cosmic Baseball.”
Technology That Grows With Cosmic
As Cosmic grew from around 150,000 fans to 750,000, the requirements of the operation changed dramatically.
New venues, bigger crowds and a national touring schedule meant the platform needed to evolve constantly. Cosmic regularly brings challenges that sit outside a traditional ticketing model, requiring Flicket’s team to respond quickly and build around the way the business operates.
“We don’t need to change a month from now, we need to change tomorrow. We need to make these really quick moves.”
For Chris, Flicket’s willingness to make those moves has been one of the defining parts of the partnership. Rather than forcing Cosmic into a cookie-cutter model, the platform and team have continued adapting alongside them as the business has scaled.
That scalability has also been proven on event day. At Cosmic’s July 4, 2026 game, its largest stadium and biggest weekend to date, huge numbers of fans needed to enter through a single entry point. The ability to scan those fans through quickly reinforced that the infrastructure could perform when the pressure moved from the on-sale to the gate.
For Chris, that adaptability and hands-on relationship is what makes Flicket more than simply a technology provider.
“They’re willing to grow with us, they’re willing to make adjustments for us, and it is not cookie cutter by any means.”
Ready for the Next Chapter
Cosmic Baseball’s national expansion is only part of the story.
The business is now servicing around 750,000 fans, with Cosmic projecting its live audience could reach between 1.2 and 1.6 million fans in 2027.
At the same time, Cosmic Sports is taking its concept beyond baseball with the launch of Cosmic Hockey, beginning the next stage of its evolution into a multi-sport live entertainment business.
“One of the more exciting pieces is that we’re also launching Cosmic Hockey. We’re looking forward to doing that with Flicket as we expand into more sports.”
From breakout baseball concept to national tour and now new sports, Cosmic continues to move quickly.
For Flicket, the goal remains the same: keep evolving alongside them, protect the fan experience and make sure the technology never becomes the thing that slows their ambition down.
